NFL Week 1 (2021) Picks

Football is finally back and Week 1 has a lot of great games on the card. Check our picks and player bets here!

Dallas Cowboys @ Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Dallas Cowboys +9.5 @ 1.95 (-105) – 2 units

The Buccaneers are favorites – and rightfully so. But this is a lot of points to leave for the Cowboys who have a strong offense that should be able to score in trash time and get within reach of the Bucs. If the Bucs make some blunders, which could always happen, it might even be a close game throughout.

CeeDee Lamb Over 61.5 Receiving Yards @ 1.83 (-120) – 1 unit

The Cowboys won’t be able to run the ball against the Buccaneers, so they will have to throw in order to keep up. Amari Cooper doesn’t appear to be fully healthy, so CeeDee Lamb should be the main target for Dak Prescott in this game.

Pittsburgh Steelers @ Buffalo Bills

Pittsburgh Steelers +6 @ 1.98 (-102) – 3 units

The Steelers are being underrated in what should be a very even game. The Bills offense is great, but so is the Steelers defense, and there will be lots of pressure on Josh Allen. Ben Roethlisberger looked good in the preseason and has lots of weapons, so even if the Steelers are trailing, they could certainly pull a back-door cover.

Arizona Cardinals @ Tennessee Titans

Arizona Cardinals +3 @ 1.94 (-106) – 1 unit

The Cardinals should be much improved this year, while the Titans are a question mark as the offensive coordinator left. This game could go either way, we see it as 50-50, so we take the points and hope for the best.

Prop: Cardinals to win, Murray O 261.5 Y, Hopkins O 85.5 Y @ 8.00 (+700) – 0.5 unit

A fun bet where we back the Cardinals to win the game, while Murray and Hopkins both ball out. It’s not too unlikely, so with such great odds we’ll take it!

Los Angeles Chargers @ Washington Football Team

Los Angeles Chargers +2 @ 1.96 (-104) – 2 units

The Chargers have the superior quarterback. New HC Staley should have a positive effect on the defense, and awesome safety Derwin James returns. The Football Team has an insane defensive line which could make things tough for Herbert, but we still see Herbert performing better than Fitzpatrick and take the win for the Chargers.

Austin Ekeler Over 4.5 Receptions @ 2.20 (+120) – 1 unit

There are injury concerns with Ekeler, but he should play, and if he does suit up, he will get a lot of receptions. Herbert should target him multiple times, and this line just seems too good.

Minnesota Vikings @ Cincinnati Bengals

Minnesota Vikings ML @ 1.68 (-147) – 2 units

The Vikings are better coached and have the overall better roster. We still don’t know how Joe Burrow will perform, and top draft pick Ja’Marr Chase has issues catching the ball.

Philadelphia Eagles @ Atlanta Falcons

Philadelphia Eagles +3.5 @ 1.909 (-110) – 2 units

Why are the Falcons favored by 3.5 points? This could be a very even affair, as the Eagles have an underrated roster. Both teams have new head coaches so we see it as a coinflip – therefore the line is great.

Seattle Seahawks @ Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts +3 @ 1.96 (-104) – 2 units

The Colts have some injury concerns, but it seems the top players (including Wentz) will be out there. For this reason, the Colts should probably be favored. Their defense is very solid and could put pressure on Russell Wilson.

Cleveland Browns @ Kansas City Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs -5 @ 1.94 (-106) – 2 units

Andy Reid is always great in Week 1. With the improved offensive line, Patrick Mahomes should have great time to find his receivers. If the Chiefs get some early scores, the Browns have to go away from their run game which will hurt them. The Chiefs should win this by a touchdown or more.

Denver Broncos @ New York Giants

Saquon Barkley Over 2.5 Receptions @ 1.80 (-125) – 1 unit

Barkley won’t get the full workload, but he should see some receptions in the open passing game. This line should probably be 3.5 so we get some value.

Green Bay Packers @ New Orleans Saints

Alvin Kamara Over 107.5 Rushing & Receiving Yards @ 1.83 (-120) – 1 unit

The Saints will lean on Kamara in the rushing game if they are ahead and in the passing game if they are trailing. He should be able to get over 108 yards as the main player in this offense. We have previously seen Kamara perform very well in the early part of the season, and it should be hard for Green Bay to stop him.

Marquez Callaway Over 46.5 Receiving Yards @ 1.83 (-120) – 1 unit

Outside of Kamara, Marquez is the only legitimate target. Considering how well Callaway played in the preseason, and considering how he should line up with CB Kevin King for the majority of his snaps, it is not unlikely that Jameis Winston will target him multiple times. He could get a lot of yards, especially in garbage time.
